Stigma, Family and Community

ISSUP are pleased to present the Second Session in the Webinar Series on Stigma and Substance Use. This Series has been organised as a collaboration between ISSUP South Africa, ISSUP Nigeria, ISSUP Kenya and ISSUP UK. The Second Session in the Series will be hosted by ISSUP Nigeria on the topic of 'Stigma, Family and Community'. Presentation Outlines: • Nature and characteristics of substance use stigma in the context of Nigeria families and communities • Stigma and substance use process model • What families and communities can do to destigmatize substance use prevention and treatment. At the end of the webinar, the participants should be able to: 1. Explain the nature and characteristics of substance use/abuse 2. Discus the  stigma and substance use process model 3. Analyse what families and communities can do to destigmatize substance use prevention and treatment.
