Despite Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) being the most frequent neurodevelopmental disorders in the general population, health professionals face diagnosis challenges worsened by discrepancies in classification systems and literature consensus. These elements can hinder access to support and care resources that people living with FASD need. Under such circumstances, it is crucial to facilitate the early identification and treatment of FASD infants. To move forward in this direction, the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW) will host the two-session webinar "Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Bending the Trajectory" on Tuesday, June 13, and Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 3 to 4 p.m. ET (Washington, DC time). The speaker, Douglas Waite, M.D., FAAP, will conduct the virtual sessions focusing on the following: -Identification of FASD among newborns and in early childhood -Assessment and screening for prenatal alcohol exposure -Documentation and required reporting -Education and further awareness of FASD
